The biggest reason why being perfectionist destroys progress

Last weekend, I bought shoes in Pampanga on a completely unexpected getaway.

We had no plans, but my wife insisted I get new shoes since my old ones are already

as old as our eldest son..

When we reached the shoe store, there were so many options—different designs,

shapes, and colors. I was thrilled to see all the choices.

At first, I was sure about this one pair, thinking, "This is it!" But as I kept

looking, it got harder to decide. I spent almost two hours picking the right one.

This happens to us a lot. We second-guess ourselves: "What if I make the wrong

choice?" "What if my friends don't like it?" "What if I don't really need it?"

"Where should I eat?" "What if the food doesn't taste good?"

It's human nature to want to avoid making mistakes and bad decisions. When faced

with something risky or unknown, we get confused and delay the decision.

But here's the thing:

If you wait for the perfect moment before making a decision, which might never

come, you miss out on opportunities. Delaying decisions means losing momentum.

When you delay, you just accumulate unresolved problems and tasks until it

reaches to a point where you get overwhelmed which can lead to chronic

procrastination.

We know procrastination is the enemy of success.

So, if you want to be successful, you need to take action and make decisions.

Most people don't want to make mistakes, and if they do, they don't admit it.

How can you correct an error if you don't acknowledge it? This leads to making

the same mistakes over and over again making no progress.

It's better to make a bad decision than to not decide at all. Every decision,

good or bad, helps you progress. Bad decisions give us feedback, allowing us to

learn and make better choices in the future.

Making decisions promptly, saves time and boosts productivity. It opens up new

ways to solve challenges and improves your problem-solving skills.
